Zebre had been employing a tactic of grabbing and holding the tackler to draw penalties for not rolling away. This example is quite clear, one player grabbing the scruff of the neck, the other grabbing the shorts. Poor Ifan Phillips then gets dragged down on top of the ruck giving the appearance of deliberate side entry. This finally made Nigel bring out the yellow card. Proof that even the bes...

Forget about the result, here's the footrace we all wanted to see. Emphatic win for LRZ. Edit: I see a few people in the comments have mentioned a limp or injury for Jonny May. I have watched it closely and I think it's just a highly fatigued man whose head is pumping because he's run out of juice. This clearly isn't Jonny at his best, fatigue is probably the reason. Look at the clip four seconds in. May has turned and is in full stride. Zammit is, if anything, slightly behind him. From then on, though, he burns May off and gains an extra 5 metres or so over him. Of course, we don't have the metrics to know how much work either man has done during the game and what that has taken out of them, but it was an awesome display of raw speed. Zammit might not be the fastest winger (for which, read player) Wales has ever had, but I can only think of Nigel Walker, who represented GB in the 110 metres hurdles, at the Olympics, who was (probably) faster.

    • @JM59600
      @JM59600 3 года назад

      Yeah Walker had something like a 10.3/10.4 hundred iirc but I'm not sure he was that fast by the time he was playing internationally. The fastest I can think of otherwise are JJ, Ieuan, Glen Webbe and Mark Jones (when they all first came through) but Zammit would be quicker that those guys I imagine.

    If they both warmed up, ran 100m fresh there would no way be more than a few meters in it. May was clearly fatigued and LRZ was charged and ready.
